When this record was created, in the spring and summer of 2001, I was studying Audio Production at The Art Institute Of Seattle, and I recall that at least two of these tracks were submitted for class projects (frustratingly, "Potion" only got an A-). Most of the sounds were generated using either the Nord Lead 2 synthesizer, the Electribe ES-1 Sampler, a blue 80s Telecaster, a Danelectro Longhorn bass, samples of Saint Sophia drummer Pete Barnett, or the human voice, almost none of which were mine. Influences here included Mouse On Mars, Autechre, the Warp Remixes compilation, Tortoise, Bjork's Vespertine, and other "big beat" electronic records of the late 90s and early 00s.
